Games today are expensive, especially when you’re talking about the latest titles on the newest consoles.

That’s why it’s nice to see that Nintendo Switch has such an excellent library of games that you can purchase and play without breaking the bank.

The list of games on this page represents some of the best Nintendo Switch games you can buy in 2022, whether you’re looking for something casual or something more intense.

Some of these games have been out for years and others are still under development, but either way, you’ll find them both engaging and entertaining!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This open-world adventure game has players explore the kingdom of Hyrule in an attempt to save it from Calamity Ganon.

The game is set 100 years after the events of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and features a vast open world for players to explore. While the game does have some linear elements, players are free to roam and discover the many secrets of Hyrule at their own pace.

All items, weapons, armour and other equipment can be obtained by exploring the various regions and defeating enemies. Players must also solve puzzles to advance through the story. The gameplay revolves around exploration, combat and puzzle solving.

Collecting and crafting new gear allows players to defeat enemies more easily or explore areas they couldn’t access before.

Breath of the Wild was first released on March 3rd, 2017 as part of the launch titles for the Nintendo Switch console alongside Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario

The game that started it all, Odyssey is a 3D platformer that has you controlling Mario as he tries to save Princess Peach from Bowser.

The game is packed with creative level design, tight controls, and charming characters, making it an easy choice for one of the best games on the Switch. What sets this title apart is its collectables.

There are 800 Power Moons to find in total, which can be used to purchase new outfits for Mario or bought from Crazy Cap stores found in each Kingdom’s world.

With these bonuses, it’s not surprising that Super Mario Odyssey tops many lists as the best Nintendo Switch game yet!

  • Travelling between Kingdoms to progress through levels can feel like a slog at times. You will spend most of your time waiting for loading screens, but once you reach your destination the action ramps up and makes exploring worth it.
  • For those who want more challenging gameplay without going online, there is also a mode called Toad Rally where players compete against one another by racing to gather coins while avoiding enemies.
  • The World Tour offers plenty of variety when tackling different tasks: helping out villagers by collecting items they need; defeating goombas; even racing against ghosts in New Donk Metro Kingdom!

Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2

This is one of the best Nintendo games to date, with fresh and addictive gameplay. Plus, you can use your gear to customize your character in a way that suits you.

You can also play multiplayer with friends or people from around the world. It’s up to four players, so if you want a game for family gatherings or friendly get-togethers, this would be perfect. The two modes are called Turf War and Ranked Battle.

In Turf War, teams compete to cover as much territory as possible in their colour ink. The team with the most territory covered wins. Ranked Battle pits two teams against each other for three minutes – it’s one team’s job to protect their base while the other team tries to smash it into smithereens.

The amount of time left on the clock will determine which team will win. When you’re playing multiplayer mode, there are five different weapons available. They include Splattershot Jr., Splattershot, Splat Charger, Sloshier and Splat Roller.

If you don’t like competition, but still love creating artwork on walls, try Mode Paintbrush! As an artist who loves to create masterpieces with his paintbrush, there is no limit to what he can do in this mode!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario kart 8 Deluxe

Arguably one of the best kart-racing games ever made, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a must-have for any Switch owner.

The game features a roster of popular Nintendo characters, each with its unique vehicles and abilities, and takes advantage of the Switch’s capabilities with stunning HD graphics and motion controls. Plus, with the addition of the Battle Mode, there’s even more reason to pick up a copy of this classic game.

Whether you’re at home or on the go, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has something for everyone. If you prefer traditional button controls over motion, then the Mario Kart TV mode is perfect for you.

You can watch other players’ races in either highlights or full live streams as they compete against ghosts in real-time. Or if competitive multiplayer isn’t your thing, then play offline split-screen multiplayer with friends and family.

Stardew Valley

You’ve inherited your grandfather’s old farm plot in Stardew Valley. With a few tools and some seeds, you set out to begin your new life. The game progresses in real-time, with seasons and events passing as you work to restore the farm to its former glory.

Stardew Valley is a peaceful and calming game that’s perfect for players looking to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. Explore the valley, meet new friends, get married, build up relationships with townspeople, or start a family.

Players can choose to do whatever they want – there are no right or wrong choices in this game! As players explore their virtual world, they’ll find animals that need care, crops to harvest, and characters who will send them on quests.

There are also tons of hidden secrets waiting to be discovered! Stardew Valley is an addicting game with a simple premise – it’s easy to pick up but hard to put down. It offers loads of freedom to play how you want, from farming to exploring caves full of treasures.

Plus, it’s absolutely beautiful! If you’re looking for a stress-free game to unwind with after a long day at work, give Stardew Valley a try.

Blaster Master Zero

Blaster master zero

A Metroidvania-style action-adventure game with retro 8-bit graphics, Blaster Master Zero has you controlling a vehicle equipped with a blaster cannon and a grappling hook.

You’ll use these tools to explore the game’s sprawling, non-linear world, fighting bosses and acquiring new abilities along the way. The game also features a two-player co-op, making it perfect for playing with a friend. Blast ‘Em

Bunnies: An on-rails shooter in which you defend your bunnygoomestead from waves of murderous bunnies, Blast ‘Em Bunnies offers some lighthearted gameplay that can be enjoyed by players of all ages.

With four difficulty levels, 15 weapons and more than 50 levels, there’s plenty to keep gamers entertained in this enjoyable romp through the countryside.

Charming pixel art graphics and an adorable soundtrack help to round out what is sure to become one of the best Nintendo Switch games ever made.

Feudal Alloy: Boasting an aesthetic reminiscent of classic 16-bit RPGs like Chrono Trigger, Feudal Alloy is a 2D side-scrolling roleplaying game set in medieval Japan.

Shovel Knight Treasure Trove

One of the best parts about Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is that it’s not just one game, but three games in one. You have the original Shovel Knight, plus two expansions: Plague of Shadows and Specter of Torment.

And each one is a masterpiece in its own right. If you’re looking for hours upon hours of platforming fun, look no further than Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. It’s up to you which version of the classic side-scrolling hero you play as, with all three heroes being vastly different from one another in terms of abilities and campaign story.

Whether it be as Shovel Knight himself or his protege Shield Knight, or even as legendary Enchantress Agatha, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.

Pokken Tournament DX

This is one of the best Nintendo games for those who want to just get in and play. It also features some unique mechanics like Pokemon trainers who can switch between two fighting stances, which can change how a player approaches an opponent.

All told, Pokken Tournament DX has a deep enough combat system for those looking for something more than just button mashing, but not so complicated that it’s off-putting to new players. The game can be played solo or with friends in either Local or Online multiplayer modes.

As well as traditional arcade mode battles, several different style battles shake up the standard gameplay by adding things like time limits and different stage layouts. This variety of options makes this one of the best Nintendo Switch games available right now.

In all honesty, it’s pretty tough to go wrong with any of these amazing games if you’re a Nintendo fan. But if you’re trying to figure out what your next purchase should be then hopefully we’ve helped point you in the right direction!

Sonic Mania Plus

If you’re a fan of the blue blur, you’ll want to pick up Sonic Mania Plus. This updated version of the 2017 game includes new stages, characters, and gameplay modes. It’s the perfect way to get your fix of fast-paced platformer action.

N++: Everyone should play this challenging puzzle platformer at least once in their lifetime. There are over 2,000 levels for players to explore, so it’ll keep you busy for hours on end.

Dragon Quest Builders: Want to escape from your day job and live in an idyllic fantasy world? Look no further than Dragon Quest Builders. Choose from two versions–the more expansive premium edition or the standard edition–and experience crafting like never before! You can also invite friends to join in on the fun via online multiplayer as well as share creations with them.

Who knows what wonderful things will be built by all those imaginative minds out there? The possibilities are endless when you have the power to make your paradise! We can’t wait to see what else 2018 has in store for us.

Golf Story

This is one of the best Nintendo games on the Switch, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quirky golf game. Golf Story takes you on an emotional adventure that spans nine chapters.

It’s not often that a video game makes me cry, but this was an exception. With this game, you can explore a beautiful map as you collect items and play golf courses to save your father’s soul from eternal damnation.

In Golf Story, the gameplay is full of surprises and fresh ideas that keep things interesting. You will encounter NPCs with funny dialogue and deep backstories that change depending on how you interact with them.

The game also has a surprisingly in-depth crafting system which allows you to create items like tools, hats, clothing, vehicles, and more.

I found myself spending hours just exploring the town collecting new items so I could craft more equipment to help solve puzzles and complete challenges.

I think this game may be my favourite of all time, even though there are only nine chapters available right now.

There are so many fun characters, both human and animal alike, and each one has its story arc waiting for you to discover if you spend enough time with them. Overall, this is a must-have for any Nintendo Switch owner!

Snake Pass

If you’re looking for a unique and challenging platformer, look no further than Snake Pass. In this game, you take control of a snake named Noodle as he traverses levels filled with obstacles. The catch is that you can’t just move forward; you have to use Noodle’s body to slither around objects.

It sounds simple, but it’s deceptively difficult and will keep you coming back for more. Plus, the art style is beautiful.

Each level is rendered in watercolour, which creates a calming aesthetic. And every time you complete a level, you get rewarded with some wonderful music by David Wise.

Add all of this together and Snake Pass becomes one of the best games on the Nintendo Switch.
