Chromebooks give Windows a run for their money
We have been seeing an increase in the use and popularity of Chromebooks. 2021 was the best year for Chromebooks so far. When comparing them to entry-level Windows devices, the new Chromebook has been outshining Windows. This increase in demand has led to an increase in product launches for ChromeOS products.
The main reason for the increase in popularity is due to the pandemic. Chromebook then became the most popular tech being used since they are affordable, high-quality, and can easily be used on broadband networks. The one area that Chromebook need to improve is their mid-to-high-end products. The Issue With Bluetooth Tracking Devices
The first time we saw a mainstream Bluetooth tracking device it was created by the company Tile. The main purpose for this product was to keep track of items that get lost easily. This year we saw both Apple and Samsung Tv launch a similar product, but some things went wrong with their PR and release.
The company with the biggest controversy was Apple. Their product was created with the same goal, and they improved on this by making their AirTag trackable through the Apple Find my app. Their launch backfired when there were major privacy concerns with their product. The Airtags were being used to infringe on people’s privacy and were being used as tracing devices, making it convenient for criminals to track potential victims. It became so dangerous that Android had to release an app that could locate Airtags and make the person being traced aware of the Airtag. There is still much to be addressed with devices like that since it has created more of a safety issue than a convenience for its user.
Samsung and its Foldable Products
After moving away from foldable technology, the Samsung phone has reintroduced it. They have released a few models of their foldable Galaxy phones, but people are still skeptical. The brands Huawei and Oppo have attempted to join the foldable phone market but have not been able to keep up with Samsung. Samsung is a leader in the market for not only foldable smartphones but more specifically, foldable screens. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has been more popular than previous foldable models since it is more durable and more affordable. If the industry does not join Samsung on the foldable phone train, it will be interesting to see where this category of smartphone goes.

Custom Silicon and Why it is Important
The common feature in the flagship of your smartphone released in the past year is the use of chips that have been designed in-house. One example is Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. It came with the Imaging chip V1 that was specifically created to improve motion compensation and noise reduction. We can see this being used in the Vivo X70 Pro Plus which uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. This chip has drastically improved the image quality of the X70 Pro Plus. These have both taken inspiration from Apple, who has been using custom-made silicon for many years. Apple has even made the move from Intel, to its own M-series chips. This past year they launched the new and improved M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.
